Systems
Argon ST designs and builds discrete systems and complete solutions for communications, reconnaissance, intelligence, surveillance, and protection of forces, including:
Reconnaissance, Communication, and Navigation Systems
In today’s uncertain times, it is critical for our military and intelligence agencies to maximize the value and advantage of technology. That’s where Argon ST’s reconnaissance systems come in. Argon ST is a leader in the development of advanced signal processing techniques and products. In fact, we pioneered the use of digital adaptive beam-forming and null-steering technology in signal reconnaissance, terrestrial communications, and GPS receivers. Simply put, we are solving some of the toughest real-world signal challenges—such as separating conflicting signal data, despite severe spectral congestion. We offer the industry’s most complete signal reconnaissance solutions, including antennas, tuners, digital-signal processors, and human-machine interface (HMI) displays. We also provide data management and distribution solutions, and are deploying systems for covert, jam-resistant communications, using blindly-adapted receiver arrays and directive transmit beam-formers.

Geo-Location Systems
Geo-location is one of today’s toughest intelligence challenges and is a core Argon ST strength. Our scientists and engineers are at the forefront of geo-location innovation. Our systems are built from the ground up to include complex geo-location capabilities, such as determining line of bearing, time difference of arrival, frequency difference of arrival, and adaptive beam-forming-based line of bearing. Our sensors routinely combine data from fixed-site, slow-, and fast-moving sensors, as well as off-board sensors to provide seamless, high-quality “fixes” of targets. Our latest systems provide “instantaneous DF on energy” to support target-separation, area-of-interest, and signal-combination requirements.
Electronic Warfare Systems
Electronic warfare is taking the battlefield by storm, allowing our forces to exploit the electromagnetic spectrum and blunt its use by adversaries. Argon ST is a recognized leader in electronic warfare, helping customers deploy both passive and active electronic countermeasures (ECM), electronic protective measures (EPM), and electronic support measures (ESM).Our customers count on us to give them the best electronic warfare information for timely operational decisions—thanks to the sophistication of our sensors and the domain knowledge that is built in to our technologies. From COMINT to ELINT to imagery and acoustic—only Argon ST has the ability to fuse critical data into clear and concise information to support the warfighter.
Threat Warning Systems
Argon ST's threat-warning systems-including surface, subsurface, and land-based installations-automatically monitor the electromagnetic spectrum and provide indications and warnings of radar threats from enemy forces. The proven systems offer broad frequency coverage, high probability of intercept, fast response time, and signal identification sufficiently precise to identify radar type and operating mode.
Adversary Emulation Systems
To win against adversary forces, it is necessary not only to know the threat, but to practice confronting it. Argon ST is working with various customers to develop both land-based and airborne threat simulators. Our threat simulation equipment emulates hostile threats to enable ship and air weapons testing and operator training. For maximum effectiveness, our simulation systems often incorporate electronic attack and radar signal systems into applications, such as training aircraft and tow targets.
Argon ST has over 300 man-years of military and industry experience developing and applying threat simulators for testing and training, Argon ST is adept in all aspects from test planning to aircraft and aircraft pod integration and certification, to scenario generation, mission reconstruction, analysis, and training. While the development of threat simulators is our primary thrust in this domain, our experts possess an outstanding overall system design and development capability and provide a wide variety of engineering services to military and commercial customers.
Signal Simulation
Our radar signal (RS) simulators are designed to accurately simulate the RF signatures of the latest anti-ship cruise missile systems and their associated targeting radars, land-based radars, shipborne radars and airborne radars. The RS simulator has been installed on land-fixed, land-mobile, aircraft, drones, and aboard ships and can be operated locally or remotely. All parameters of the radar signals can be programmed and/or manually controlled including a selection of pulse and scan modes capable of simulating the most-complex threat signals.
Two of the major land-based applications of our signal simulators are the Smart Target Threat (STT) program and the Advanced Ground Target Threat Simulator (AGTTS) program. These two programs provide simulators that have realistic RS transmissions, and realistic threat shapes in a highly mobile package. The simulators can be equipped with many other modules to increase the fidelity of the overall threat.
Electronic Attack
Our EA systems are high-performance modular equipment used by US and allied defense forces to provide techniques for both tactical application and threat simulation. Our EA systems are installed around the world - on land, aircraft, unmanned vehicles and aboard ships. We offer a full-range of EA capability including Non-Coherent Noise, Active Deception, and Digital RF Memory-based techniques. Full-spectrum EA is a core competency of Argon ST , with proven capabilities throughout the communications and radar bands.
