Paid Time Off

Paid Time Off (PTO) provides employees a bank of leave to be used at his/her discretion allowing flexibility for employees to use leave in a way that suits their individual needs. Beginning with the first year of employment, regular full-time employees accrue 160 hours of PTO. After 5 years of continuous full-time employment, regular full-time employees accrue 200 hours of PTO. After 10 years of continuous full-time employment, employees accrue eight additional PTO hours with each additional year of employment (max accrual is 240 hours). PTO is accrued from the date of hire. Unused PTO may be banked for later use up to a maximum of 320 hours, or may be converted to cash at your hourly compensation rate at the time of conversion. PTO hours beyond 320 will be paid out to the employee at the end of the fiscal year. Full-time employees can request up to 40 hours of advanced PTO.

Paid Holidays

All regular full-time and part-time Argon ST employees are eligible for paid holiday leave. The following eleven holidays are observed on an annual basis:

  • New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • the Friday after Thanksgiving
  • December 25th (Christmas Day)
  • the four days between Christmas and New Year's Day

9/80

Argon ST's standard work schedule is a 9/80 work schedule. A 9/80 work schedule compresses 80 hours of work over a two week period from 10 days into 9 days. This is accomplished by working eight 9 hour days and one 8 hour day. This results in employees having alternating Fridays off, thus enjoying a three day weekend every other week. Argon ST has designed the second Friday of the pay period as the off Friday in order to align with our largest customer.

The work week begins at 12:00 noon Friday and ends at 11:59am on the following Friday in order to maintain 40 hours of work in each week. Non-exempt employee's work week aligns with their chosen schedule.

Argon ST offers an alternative 5/40 schedule for employees who are unable to work a 9/80 work schedule. Any employee who wishes to work a 5/40 schedule must receive supervisor approval.

In some cases, business needs may dictate the need for an employee to work a 9/80 or a 5/40 schedule Argon ST reserves the right to require an employee to work a certain schedule based on business needs.

Flexible Schedules

Argon ST's core business hours are from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Argon ST understands that everyone's scheduling needs are different and offers flexible schedules (with supervisor approval) to provide for your preferred work schedule.

Exempt employees, with prior approval from a supervisor, can flex their time within a 2-week pay period up to 12 hours by using "special leave". For instance, if an employee worked 30 hours in the first week of the pay period and 50 hours in the second week of the pay period, the employee could flex their time and move 10 hours from week 2 to week 1 for a total of 80 hours in the pay period.
